Over the past few years, most regular computer users have become used to a Windows Xp style menu. I am not sure if we have just learnt to use it well or is it just simply easier. Either way, it made using the Windows Vista start menu a shock to the system. Sometimes it seems a little confusing because it seems like everything comes up at once.
See the screenshots below. On the left is the original default Windows Vista start menu. This is what it looks like when you press on programs. On the right is the classic XP style start menu. When you click on programs it will show a menu very similar to the Windows XP start menu.
How to change the start menu to classic
- Go to the start menu icon in the left corner
- Right click on it to bring a menu up
- Choose properties from the menu
- Go to the Start Menu Tab
- Put a check in the box next to classic start menu
- Press Apply and then OK
