Video – how to change your status on Windows Live Messenger to appear offline
When chatting on Windows Live Messenger you can change your status from being online to Away, be right back, in a call , appear offline, and more.
Appearing offline on Windows Live Messenger can be very handy when you want to chat to a contact and avoid another one from seeing you. Sometimes you just don’t feel like talking to certain people.
I almost always appear offline on msn, skype and qq.
But there is one thing that could be good but ends up being annoying about msn.
That’s, when you want to say something to somebody when appearing offline, msn will ask you “show as online for this person?”. You have to say “yes” or else you can not say anything to that person.
It is cool that you can choose to show online for specific people without having to go through the hassle of blocking everybody in your msn. But it’s annoying that you can’t just stay looking offline for them when saying something. If you talk to them they will know that you are there, so why you need to show online?
