whenever I booted the computer, it would go through all the normal spiel as the computer loaded, then offer me the choice of Ubuntu or Windows, but I had to be there ready to select, because it only gave me a few seconds to choose. If I was too slow to select Windows, it would just start booting into Ubuntu automatically. Ubuntu looked pretty cool, but I couldnt make my wireless network card work on it, because I cant work out how to install any programs on it at all. It was really annoying, because I would have tried Ubuntu for awhile, but every time I needed to boot Windows, I couldnt just turn the computer on and walk away for a few minutes - I had to wait for the option to choose Windows first or I would come back and Ubuntu would be loaded instead of Windows.Since I doubt I would have chosen Ubuntu unless it was a boring rainy day and I felt like experimenting, it wasn't worth having to go through that every time I booted the computer, so I asked my brother to uninstall it. I still think he has removed everything though, because the computer says there is no operating system, and surely it would know?
wow that was fast!the computer starts, the fans all come on, it goes through all the usual spiel on the screen, and then i get a message - cannot locate operating system. I guess he has just removed everything instead of just Ubuntu? How can I access the BIOS if I cant boot the computer?? what would I do when I got there?
