HelloI want to try and make a website but need to do it for free as I do not know if I will like the whole process yet. I don't know any coding or programing to do with websites so it would have to be easy to work. I just want to fill it in and if I like it then do it properly later.

February 26, 2009 at 5:43 pm #31278I can offer you a free website. My websites provide you with allowances of 300MB webspace, 10GB monthly bandwidth, and all the usual things like subdomains and multiple email accounts, PHP, Perl, and MySQL databases. Those aren't huge numbers, but you can fit quite a large blog or personal website into 300MB, (My personal site is starting to expand very nicely and still takes, not including the music collection I have stored there, less than 50MB of webspace!) and 10GB bandwidth space will cater for 1000's of visitors monthly. I'd welcome any visitors to my personal site http://daksters.com - I am pretty pleased with the way its progressing, and you would get an idea of just how much you can fit into a mere 50MB of space. There is a link there to my free webhosting site as well. The allowances I offer are about average for free websites, but I will also offer personal support, training videos, templates, etc.. I'll personally help you to create a professional website to suit your exact needs and tastes very quickly, and I am hoping that will be what makes me different from the rest. You can create a new free website at http://daksfreehosting.0lx.net/, and once the website is created, if you contact me via the support links in your welcome emails then I will assist you in building a decent website.I requested Mitz's permission before making this post, as it flaunts the rules of no self-promotion. Thankyou Mitz!

February 27, 2009 at 9:49 pm #31279Sounds very cool dak..Personal support for free is just unheard of and instantly makes this option better than getting a free blog at blogger or even wordpress...There is no help there. You just have to figure it out yourself. Do you need a domain name to get this free website or will it be http://daksfreehosting.0lx.net/My site name
March 6, 2009 at 9:26 pm #31280So is this the best one for me to try? I have no idea?

March 7, 2009 at 2:09 am #31281Since I am the one providing the website, I am biased and you would be better seeking other opinions. Its my opinion though that my free websites are the best option for someone who doesn't know anything, simply because I'll offer any help you need to turn a blank website into a website custom made for you, with lessons on how to maintain, modify and improve the site. I'll provide a variety of web templates to choose from, based on the type of website you have in mind. I'll provide lessons and hold your hand through the design process as you modify the template to make it into your own website. I'll ensure that you finish up with a satisfactory, fully functioning website, and it will cost you nothing! There are hundreds of free website hosts on the internet. This is made possible via advertising placed on your site by the provider, in this case me. There are even free websites that have no advertising at all (they are able to do this by severely limiting many things about the site, and relying on your choosing to pay them to upgrade at a later point). Many of the sites will offer more webspace and more bandwidth (this means how much traffic your website can have) than I do. The amount I offer though (300MB webspace and 10GB bandwidth) is more than ample for quite large blogs and personal websites. My servers provide all the features required on any modern website, including databases, perl and php support, multiple email accounts, subdomains etc. I have even the Fantastico installer, which can install very complex things like forums and photo processing software totally automatically.I provide you with a few lines of javascript code which create a single advertisement block, which I require you to insert on every page of your website in any place on the page you desire. Thats it! I receive revenue from this advertisement block(which will be individually tailored to suit the subject of each page) and in return, I will help you get a great personal website or blog up and running, ready to show off to your friends. You dont need to buy a domain name or anything like that. Your website will be a subdomain of my own domain, and the address will look very similar to the address which mitz has suggested in her previous post. Once you get your site going well and you are happy with it, you may choose to buy a domain of your own ( I can provide these, but I get nothing out of it at all) at a variable cost ranging from a few bucks a year to 20 or 30, depending on your preference. That will enable you for instance to have a domain name like yourname.info or myownsite.com instead of the longer address that will necessarily come with using one of my subdomains. Of course, if its just a personal site, you may feel that is an un-necessary expense and simply continue using the address I provide you, totally free, for as long as you want. For a total beginner with no knowledge of webdesign at all, I believe I offer one of the best services on the net.

March 20, 2009 at 5:09 pm #31282actually, if you are a beginner…I have looked around a little for myself, and if you want a general based website, that you don't plan on making extremely big, i would recommend daks websiteshe provides you with many tools and some you wont need right away. and his is also my recommendationif you are wanting to start a small business i would suggest Microsoft Office live, they do not support php (a scripting language) but the interface is a simple and intuitive website generator, you can also, in time, purchase additional features for your site.daks site:http://daksters.com/Office livehttp://www.officelive.com/
