You can save images with transparent backgrounds in .png or .gif format. Corel Draw is probably able to do this. If not, then you can use Macromedia Fireworks (part of the Dreamweaver suite) to create png images. You can download a trial version of FireworksMX2004 here…http://www.bluesofts.com/download-87-920.htmlI've chosen MX2004 rather then the newer versions as this version is easy to use, very full featured, and a smaller download than the more recent versions.A much cheaper alternative if you need to buy the software is to use Easy Gif Animator to create a .gif image. You can download Easy Gif Animator here...http://www.blumentals.net/download/egifan4p.exeFireworks is the professional standard for creating web images. Easy Gif Animator is designed to create animated .gif images, and can be a lot of fun.

If its a folder logo you want, you can use a free application called IcoFx (Icon Effects) Its a small program that you can download free at:http://icofx.ro/I use it a lot to make custom icons for all of my folders, such as my web server...to use the Transparent option, its pretty easy, and you can see it here:by clicking in the space there, the grid looking space, it changes your color selection from red or green or #abc159, to Transparent, and you can do anything you would be able to do with normal colors, such as "fill", which seems like it would be nice for what you are wanting.good luck
