Ok for those of you who are new, I'm Dak, and like Mitz, I also live in Australia. In fact, she lives half a mile from me lol.If you are wondering why you haven't seen me around, its because I've not been well, thats all. Heres a warning for you. I have been smoking for 30 years. Its never bothered me, I, like everyone else, think it wont happen to me.A couple months ago I came within 2 hours of having my left foot amputated above the ankle because of gangrene, caused by blood clots which were caused by smoking. The operation had been scheduled, but a pulse appeared in my foot with 2 hours to spare. I am recovering, I've kept my foot, though one of my toes is still not looking good. I feel very lucky indeed.Do yourself a favour... smoking... dont do it...Hi all those I havent met, and welcome to the forum. 🙂

Only your will power can help you to quit smoking. I'd myself been a heavy smoker. But for the last one year or so, I've quit it altogether. Meditation and deep breathing exercises helped me a lot in this direction.July 15, 2011 at 10:41 am #32297

Smoking tobacco is both a psychological habit and a physical addiction. The act of smoking is ingrained as a daily ritual and, at the same time, the nicotine from cigarettes provides a temporary, and addictive, high. Eliminating that regular fix of nicotine will cause your body to experience physical withdrawal symptoms and cravings. To successfully quit smoking, you’ll need to address both the habit and the addiction by changing your behavior and dealing with nicotine withdrawal symptoms.September 19, 2011 at 3:09 pm #32299
