How to get rid of those really annoying bmp desktop back rounds and create one location for those back round images you like. This will require a registry change so if your no comfortable then go no further, also i take no responsibility if you mess up your registry.First copy this to a note pad (You can use any location you like as long as you have the complete path)c:/WINDOWS/Web/WallpaperNow open the registry by typingregedit in the run boxNow go find the following keyHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionHighlight CurrentVersion and on the right you will see the following key WallPaperDir double click that and copy and paste the location you selected and saved in the note pad (Mine is c:/WINDOWS/Web/Wallpaper) Remember you have to have the complete path. Now move all the images you want to use for your desk top back rounds to that folder.(or what ever location you have choosen)Now if you right click on your desktop then properties then the desktop tab you will see the images you added along with those annoying bmp images, to get rid of those go to C:Windows and scroll down until you see the bmp images and just select and delete them. You may also have to delete or move any images from you my pictures folderNow when you find an image you want to use for your desk top back round right click the image and select save as and save it to the folder your using for your back round images. In my case it would be a right click save as c:/WINDOWS/Web/WallpaperBearMarch 12, 2012 at 11:12 am #30268
