Can anyone let me know if there is a free program out there to delete duplicate files as someone has asked me about it on youtube…Apparently they have put files in C: drive…November 28, 2008 at 1:24 pm #30348
I would be very careful with this one?Often the so called Duplicate Files are actually shared files, just with subtile differences? Removing the wrong one can be a Disaster. It is similar to cleaning the Registry, always at your own Risk.Three things screw up a Computer more than any thing else?1.November 28, 2008 at 6:14 pm #30349
The safest way to remove duplicate files is to run search with the system files showing known extensions showing, when searching use wild cards as the extension. So if yahoo messenger is the program your search would be yahoo.*.*January 3, 2009 at 12:42 am #30350
Found a free program that
- Searches all files on any partition you ask it to...You can search one partition or even compare two or more for duplicate files.
- Protects system files..Simply tick the box that protects system files and they will not be included in the search for duplicate files.
- Lists the original and duplicate file..therefore you can choose to delete the original and keep the copy instead.
