I'm really hoping someone can help me out, I'm so determined at times that I find myself working on mine and everyone else's computers for hours or even days.
Using these scanning and repairing tools can over write the data you are trying to save. Not too sure about the ones you are using. Also I think the 320GB clickfree c2 external drive is a pretty much sealed unit so I gather it is good for back purposes. These guys might be right about the hard drive being stuffed as the slow computer can be a sign of many things like bad sectors and failing hard drive. But let me ask a few questions to spark other ways to try?Is the hard drive still in the HP laptop? Can you remove the hard drive and put it in a small external case and connect it to another computer? These cases cost $5 on Ebay or Amazon.
As you have already tried most of the things, I would recommend you to reinstall the whole operating system. If possible, start using Windows 7 instead of Windows Vista.
