Over the years I have gathered a crazy amount of email addresses. I have a personal one, website one, business one, forum one, other freebies, and more… How many do you think we really need? There is no way I could survive with one email address as I would get too much SPAM and junk in there. I can put my email addresses into 3 categories: A private email address. This is also my personal email address and I only give it to friends and family. Even though they all abuse it by sending me and a hundred other people an email at the same time....Great now they all have my email address. A public email address. This is the email that you use on the internet. You know there is going to be some spam but you need to be out there in case someone wants to contact you...A throw-away email address. This is the one you use to sign up for things or give when you really don't want to share your real email addresses...What categories have you got??? Or have I got OCD?October 22, 2009 at 12:20 am #32465
You have OCD, I'm living fine with one e-mail account..All the spam goes into the spam folder and all the good stuff is sent to the right place..October 22, 2009 at 10:29 pm #32466MitzKeymaster
Yeah it sounds like it(got OCD)….but wait, I didn't even tell you how many email addresses I really have….For each domain name I have and email address but if they are getting hosted I get 100 or more for each domain….So lets just say I can have well over 1000 but I have limited myself to about 20-30…and believe it or not I can remember them all….October 23, 2009 at 1:59 am #32467

Yeah 20-30 is a lot, I have about 5 I think, a couple of Yahoo addresses one linked to my main one, A Google mail address (rarely use it), a Hotmail address and a Uni email address which is with Google.I mainly use that secondary Yahoo email address for signing up to things like forums and various other things. One thing I may add, I haven't got a clue where I read about this, can't even remember if it was on a forum, blog or news article but this site is good - http://spambox.us/ if you want to create a spam or as Mitz termed it a throw away account on a site you don't trust or looks iffy.November 6, 2009 at 2:38 am #32469

I agree that there is no way to survive with one email address but it is really hard to remember the different passwords….is there any easier way to remember them?January 6, 2010 at 6:34 am #32471247timeParticipant
