Hello againWhen I start my computer a warning comes up and says that someone is attacking me and I should go to a certain website and buy their software. Also if I go on the internet it will bring up sites that I do not want to go to...It feels like something has taken over..Is it spyware or a virus trojan? I really don't know which is which? The local computer guy says he does not have to look at it because it simply needs formatting...But I am wondering if I can get rid of this myself. I think there is some kind of program that is doing this. I must have downloaded it somehow. But I do not want to turn the computer on unless I have a plan on how to fix it. The message that comes up on the screen does not let me close it.What should I do?April 8, 2009 at 2:46 am #31720
yes you can get rid of it, i would recommend getting your hands on either avg or avast, these can scan your computer and get rid of the ADWARE (a type of software which displays ads wanting you to buy something, or redirects you to websites to buy something)By using google you can find these programs, only install 1!!!!!or they will not be happy 🙁and good luck, if you cant find it, or the adware wont let you to it, ask us for a link, i can give you a direct download 😀April 9, 2009 at 7:12 am #31721
You can get AVG Free from this Site, Mate it is the one on the left, download it and update it before you run ithttp://free.avg.com/You could also download and run Malwarebytes, also free, from here. BTW it is compatible with AVG Free and may pick up ones that AVG Free misseshttp://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
