I have 700 meg of ram my games and programmes are runnning slow or freezing would this be the problem??
Hi Stickyman,I felt it best to separate your post from the older topic, just makes it look clearer, Your problem would seem to be because of the low amount of RAM which seems most likely.Download SIW at this site - http://www.gtopala.com/And post the Information it lists under the Memory Section, Might be best to post the rest of your Computer Spec as well, also it would be handy to have the Make and Manufacturer of your Computer.Someone will be able to help you and point you towards the right course of action with that Information
How long is a piece of string? The short answer is, 700MB is probably not enough and yes that could certainly cause your problem. There are too many variables to answer that question as is, but I'll do what I can.The first variable is the operating system. If you are using XP, it will perform most tasks acceptably with 512MB RAM.If your demands are a little higher though, and (for example) you have a dualcore processor which you are multitasking heavily with while watching a video on a second screen, you are going to need a bunch more.Another factor is the video memory. If your computer uses onboard graphics, ie you dont have a separate video card, then your graphics chip is likely to 'share' as much as 128MB of your RAM'. If you only have 512MB of RAM then take away 128MB for the graphics,

If you want to optimize your PC or laptop with that amount of RAM, i think you should decrease the use of unnecessary software on your laptop or PC. You can also deactivate some software from running in the background that usually make laptop run slow. You can do this by changing the setting in order to deactivate the functionality of that software.
