Bah$5000 AU (3441.46) USNice PC though, awesome specs and prolly performs wicked fast eh?Thats one reason i prefer Intel, but they do have the power and resell value 🙁March 20, 2009 at 4:58 pm #31507March 20, 2009 at 5:00 pm #31508
bah… againnah, i like amd, general runs cooler and gives you better overclockability (is that a word)but once again, to each his own...March 20, 2009 at 5:20 pm #31509
yep, you can overclock AMD nearly up to the native speed of the Intel lol.. but then you'll need to cool it a bit better 😉mine is overclocked at 3.8GHz and idles at 21 celcius, gotta love watercooling. Might even try a Vapochill setup one day, see how it goes at below freezing....AMD make great value mid level stuff, but if you want a serious machine you need to spend the bux on an Intel...

ah, thats not true at all 🙁example...amd phenom quad core 2.3 Ghz Black editionclocked to 3.2 Ghz on Standard CoolerOR another one:newegg best ratings, best amd and best intel rated:AMD Phenom 9850 BLACK EDITION 2.5GHzhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103249 Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHzhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017so of the best rated two, the amd is the better choice, and guess what?AMD = $139.99Intel = $199.99Compare them here:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010340343&bop=And&CompareItemList=N82E16819115017%2CN82E16819103249here is a screenshot of the above:1066 v 4000March 20, 2009 at 8:45 pm #31511
yes, but like i said, thats the midrange stuff.. tell me about an AMD running at 3.8GHz….. and I can push harder to get over 4GHz out of my QX9650 ..

You two are pretty funny… I didn't know this was the funny section though.March 20, 2009 at 9:38 pm #31513
whats its native speed?March 20, 2009 at 9:43 pm #31514
fastest intel i saw = 3.2 Ghz (NOT A BLACK EDITION)Fastest Amd i saw = 3.0 Ghz (BLACK EDITION)for those of you whom do not know, a black edition has an unlocked multiplyer, a part of a cpu, which you can change to overclock the processor to outstanding speedslike, oh i dont know 8.0 on custom liquid coolingMarch 21, 2009 at 4:48 am #31515
Of course clock speed is not all there is to it, and AMD have always run lower clock speeds for a similar result.

ok, ok i will give you that one i guess, the amd = gaming intel = apps;Dok, so posting from memory was a bad idea 🙁 go figure, phenom II 6.5 Ghz Stable Nitrogen / heliumhttp://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/overclocked_amd_phenom_ii_hits_65ghz_with_liquid_nitrogenhelium_cooling4.4 Airhttp://www.engadget.com/2008/11/21/amd-overclocks-the-snot-out-of-phenom-ii-processors/August 17, 2009 at 9:33 pm #31517

I'm using 6GB DDR3 1600mhz Corsair Dominator, and keeping my twin GTX285 Sli setup. Now THAT should be awesome....Also about to start experimenting with a shoebox computer.. a 1.6G Atom.. just out of curiosity.
