I have bought a U36j ASUS laptop few days ago. It did not come with a DVD-rom. So, I bought a DVD-rom for it.I changed the boot priority in BIOS to DVD Drive and then tried to boot. But then I faced this message:1- Load freeDOS with maximum RAM free, using EMM3862- Load freeDOS including HIMEM XMS-memory driver3- Load freeDOS without driversEnter a choice: [1 2 3]When I chose one of the above items, the following message would appears:Welcome to freeDOSCuteMouse V1.9 [FreeDOS]Installed at PS/2 portC:> I do not know what to do next. I appreciate if you can help me out of this.Thank you

Looks like you are in c: drive in dos mode when you see the C:/> If you want to get to D: drive follow this.(If your dvd drive is D:)You can type d: and press enterThen it should display D:/>What would you like to do..Maybe start windows?maybe you could go into bios and check the settings again. Even though you enabled the dvd rom as the first boot device, you might have disabled the hard drive as the second boot device...January 8, 2013 at 6:43 am #33359
Installing an operating system is not that easy as it seems. And, if you are still facing difficulties installing Windows 7 in your PC, I would recommend you to take help of a professional hardware engineer.
