Hi I got an issue that my computer will stay in black screen after I pressed the power button. The black screen contain words "B4" at the bottom right.I am able to boot into the windows later on after staying in the black screen for around 4-5 mins. But it show "No HDD detected" during the boot. But my HDD is working fine.FYI I just bought my rig consisted of i5 2500K,
I have heard of these errors before with the MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard but it is always a different problem and the B4 shows up but then it shows other numbers too…If you think the hard drive is ok...Do you have another hard drive plugged in...even an external HDD? Maybe a usb? Also when you see the B4 can you see a flashing cursor in the left top corner?
Mitz: I have exactly the same problem, it's very random, showes up every once in a while. My PC is one month old, I have motherboard also from MSI: Z68A-G45 (G3).And yes, I have B4 at the bottom right and a flashing cursor in the left top corner. What might be the problem?
I am presuming that the computer is stalling because there is some type of hardware error.Firstly you might have an external device plugged in or secondly you might have a device that is not working or corrupted. For example if your hard drive is partially working or maybe the hard drive controller is faulty, you will see this flashing cursor because the computer has found the hard drive but can't go any further. This also has happened with a faulty dvd drive..Because the computer found it and got confused. You can see this article for more info.
