Hi my laptop is an acer: I´ll describe the situation:--Is able to run LiveCD from linux so I think there is no hardware problem(theorethically)--After boot logo it shows a black screen with the hd led on--I can press F8 and try safe mode, or the other modes, but the black screen will come again--After doing a repair install of windows xp(the only OS i have installed), when it restarst (and the installation should continue but without the cd), again the black screen comes...--I have also tried to: bootcfg /repair (success), chkdsk /r(success), fixmbr, fixboot--Also copied sam, system, security, software, default from c:/repair to system32/config. The only files of my config folder are the 5 files I copied, else is empty. My only clue is: could it be a very harmful virus?? What else can it be??thanks.best regards, james.
