I was creating a few redirects from old URLs to new URLS and found that some of the old URLs had spaces in them… Ouch.. Therefore they had %20 in the URLS where the spaces should be. When doing a normal redirect like this from old url to new one:
That works fine but when you try to redirect a url with spaces that looks like this:
You need to write it a bit different like this:
Notice the "" and the %20 removed and plain spaces put in. Also here is where to put this redirect code in your htaccess file. Just before # BEGIN WordPress. See below.
Your htaccess file is stored on your website server in the root directory. If you have a free blog you cannot access the server.
