I agree up to the external hard drive, saying that it is a main component is not correct, you can not install the operating system and boot to an external drive there for it would not be a main component.Bear
I disagree, most motherboards made in about the last three years will allow you to boot from anything, external hard drives included (usb drives, SD cards even)and installing to these devices has been possible as long as your bios will recognize the device as above...But installing to an external drive and running your pc off of it, will cause your computer to be slow (Unless you are using E-SATA *exrternal sata*) Because usb (and firewire) are slower than both sata and pata (what most people call ide) drives
