Using these scanning and repairing tools can over write the data you are trying to save. Not too sure about the ones you are using.Also I think the 320GB clickfree c2 external drive is a pretty much sealed unit so I gather it is good for back purposes.These guys might be right about the hard drive being stuffed as the slow computer can be a sign of many things like bad sectors and failing hard drive.But let me ask a few questions to spark other ways to try?Is the hard drive still in the HP laptop?Can you remove the hard drive and put it in a small external case and connect it to another computer? These cases cost $5 on Ebay or Amazon.
