Ok I have finally solved the mystery, which wasn't that hard after all...What I did is compare both the registry entries for Windows mail and outlook express and noticed that they were a fraction different. Therefore you could not just import the same settings from one to the other...I know Violyyn will know what I am talking about because to follow this you must first read the article I have mentioned above. This is what entry looked like in Outlook express.. the message rules are stored in a different area.[HKEY_CURRENT_USER{B82158E1-7B8C-45D7-926C-209985B61643}SoftwareMicrosoftOutlook Express5.0RulesMail00]"Name"="Funny Stuff #1""Enabled"=dword:00000001"Version"=dword:00000003Instead of editing the identities like in outlook, we need to remove them and make the path look like the example below. Find Identities{B82158E1-7B8C-45D7-926C-209985B61643}Replace all with nothing..leave blank. Then find Outlook Express5.0Replace with Windows MailThis is what it should look like!!!!!!!!![HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows MailRulesMail00]"Name"="Funny Stuff #1""Enabled"=dword:00000001"Version"=dword:00000003Now you can save that reg file and take the backup of your Outlook Express email rules and put them into Windows Mail...Of course your message rules will not work unless you have the same folders that you had on the other computer. Here's how to find them. To backup your folders from Outlook1..Go to the tools menu2..Choose Options3..Go to the advanced tab4..Press on maintenance5.Then press on store folder6..This will show you where the folders are stored. 7..Copy that address by making it blue.8..Open my computer and paste the address in the top bar, or the search bar for Vista. 9..Copy all the folders in there and paste them to your new computer.
