Technology is fast evoling and changing the way we live our everyday lives. Over the past decade we have seen mobile phones, smart phones, 3D TV’s and games consoles you can control with your body but printers seem to have been left behind. When I think of printers, I think of a clumpy looking thing that jams every 10 minutes and makes a horrible racket. Hopefully these 10 future printer concepts will give you a little faith for the future of printers.
SWYP Printer
The SWYP Printer ( See What You Print) Is aimed at bringing printing into the 21st century. The concept is simple: select what you want to print using the touchscreen and swipe to print. The printer is wireless and can be connected to your Facebook, Flickr and your camera. The printer itself looks great and wouldn’t look out of place in a home or office. Take a look at the video below
Pencil Printer
The idea behind the pencil printer is to save waste and time by printing using a…pencil. That’s right by inserting a pencil into this sleek design concept printer it uses the graphite to create an image on the page, which you can rub out if you’ve made a mistake. What do you think will the pencil printer change the future?
RITI Coffee Printer
The coffee printer like the pencil printer is looking at reducing wastage by using left over coffee as ink. While the idea of the printer isn’t a bad one, I don’t think we would be seeing it anytime soon…unless Starbucks gets involved.
The Hanging Printer
This concept is designed to save much need space at your desk. A simple concept that just balances on your desk, I can actually see one of these in our office.
The Wireless Wall Mounted Printer
This concept printer is similar to the hanging printer as its designed to save space. Everything seems to be wall mounted these days, so why not a printer? I personally like the idea but worried about where the paper would go when printing or do you have to wait and try and catch your print job before it hits the floor. Here’s a pic
Samsung Circular Printer
Samsung are huge in the printing industy and to see their circular printer concept kind of shocked me. Samsungs products have always been user friendly but with this printer you would have to load each page seperately and have a nice curved print out when finished…
The Book Printer
I like this design…I like the fact you can fold the printer to the size of a book and carry it around with you everywhere you go. Its wireless and you can connect to it using bluetooth.
Instant Cartridge Printer
Although this is a good concept idea, environmentally I don’t think it’s sound. The concept is to print directly to the ink cartridge so you can print on the go and once the cartridge is empty you throw it away and buy another one.
The Little Printer
Using your smartphone to set up subscriptions this little printer will connect to the internet and print you all the news, reminders and any tweet you might need for that day. Take a look at the video below.

Stick Pop Printer
This concept again is all about printing on the move. Need a document in a hurry? Just pull this bad boy out your handbag and using a USB get printing. Again the idea is great for people who are constantly on the move and need to print, but would you need one I mean really need one?
There you have it 10 concepts on the future of printing. How do you think printing will change in the printer and which was your favourite concept?
