As you might know, I have been using computers for over 25 years, and I guess I am a perfect candidate for getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Yes I do have it, and I am not a doctor, however I can give you some tips that have helped me. Please do not take these tips as Gospel. If you think you have Carpal Tunnel you must see your doctor, as it can be very serious. Here is a great resource all about Carpal Tunnel.
How did I notice I had carpal tunnel syndrome?
- My arm started to ache and get pins and needles if I was using the computer.
- I could feel the pins and needles even if my wrist or hand was in a similar position to what it is when I use my computer.
- You feel like you need to shake your arms around to get the blood flow going again.
What I am doing to stop the Carpal Tunnel Progression?
At first I didn’t know what to do. After all this is what I am doing to earn a living so it is very important that I can use a computer. I was desperate to be able to use my computer without aggravating the Carpal tunnel any further. I went out and bought a wrist band that would hold my wrist and hand in a level position, therefore not straining my injury, and making it worse. Unfortunately this did not work for me as I needed to move a bit more than this wrist band would allow. I also tried taking breaks form my computer and moving around in different positions. Nothing seemed to work.
After more research and a lot pain, I mentioned my problem to a friend. You know everyone you mention Carpal tunnel to has had it or knows something about it. Anyway my friend recommended getting an arm support for my computer desk to make my positioning at my desk more natural. I thought this was another gimmick but I borrowed my friends Computer Arm Rest to see how it would work. The handy gadget just connected to my computer desk and I put my arm on it. Amazing! It was keeping my arm level with my mouse which was on the computer desk. That’s all I needed.
The arm rest took me about 2 minutes to attach and start resting my arm upon. I think a two year old could fit this onto a desk.
It hasn’t cured my Carpal Tunnel but it allows me to use my computer without the pain and annoying side effects. I believe it hasn’t had a chance to get worse either, however I am not %100 sure until I see my doctor again.

I ended up purchasing my own at Budget Gadgets Online. It was under $10 with free shipping. This company ships your product out really quickly also as I needed to give my friends arm rest back for him to use.
