How to create a keyboard shortcut to a desktop icon

This little trick will let you choose a combination of keys on the keyboard to open a program that you select. It is a great shortcut that really opens a program instantaneously. Usually you would have to go to your desktop to double click on an icon to open a program, however with this you can press the keyboard anytime you like.

Notes:

• A word of warning!! Do not set two programs with the same keyboard shortcuts as this will totally confuse your computer and probably freeze it. Before setting a keyboard shortcut to a desktop icon, press the shortcut keys first to see if they are being used or not.
