It is also handy to put a shortcut to your absolute favourite webpage in the Quick launch toolbar. You need to make a shortcut on the desktop and then drag it to the Quick launch.
How to create a link on the desktop to a webpage
(Internet Explorer 5,6)
Instead of opening Internet Explorer, going to your favorites, and then clicking on the page you want..you can just have a shortcut to the page on your desktop.
- Go to your favorites list in internet explorer.
- Choose which page you want. Don’t click on it just select it. (make it blue)
- Then click your right button on your mouse. (right click)
- A menu will appear and then choose create a shortcut. This will put it on your desktop.
Now that you have a shortcut to a webpage on your desktop you can drag it to your quick launch taskbar. Here’s how to enable the quick launch taskbar.

Thanks this is great for people who don’t have much experience for computers. Like my mum and dad have recently gotten into using the computer and creating shortcuts to the websites they like going on will help heaps, thank you.
