You can go to the Microsoft website to download free software for Windows XP or Vista, providing you have a legal and genuine copy of Windows installed. Infact there is a lot of computer software you can get from Microsoft, all free.
You can also go to the Microsoft website to see the necessary system requirements your computer needs to run a particular program. I personally like using the new Internet Explorer 7, as it allows me to open multiple tabs instead of multiple windows. Which obviously a lot more organised and a lot less confusing.
When you do buy a copy of Windows, wether it be XP Home, PRO, or Vista, you will be entitled to all of the extras. I have listed some software titles below.
