Here are two ways you can determine your IP address information:
Try this:
- Go to the Start menu / Choose Run / Then type cmd (Which would give you a command prompt)
- Type this: IPCONFIG /ALL
- This will give you your information.
If you want to save the info to a text file type this: IPCONFIG /ALL > c:myip.txt
This will store the information in a text file on C drive. You can name the file anything you like.
Or This:
- Go to Start menu/Control Panel / Network Connections / Double click the icon for your network (If the network has an icon in the system tray you can also just double click on that icon)
- Click on the Support tab
- Click on the Details button
NOTES:
- A static IP address is when the numbers are randomly selected each time you connect to your home network, however I like to choose my own so I can connect to it from other computers on the network. Here is what my settings look like:

I chose to make my IP Address 10.0.0.1 and you can make your subnet mask the same as mine. The default gateway is my Modems IP Address. I found the modems Ip Address in the manual it came with.
