TIFF, JPG, and BMP are the most commonly used industry standard file formats for saving your digital photos. TIFF and BMP have been around for as long as I can remember, however JPG is now the most widely used format. Most new digital cameras download their photos to the computer as a JPG file. This saves allot of time for me as I do not have to convert them.
A JPG file saves an image in high quality and also takes up less space. Please be aware that the more mega-pixels your digital camera has, the larger the picture will be when you download it to your computer. if you want to e-mail that picture to someone it will need to be resized because we all know how annoying it is when you receive a really large picture through e-mail. Here is an article on how to resize your photos.
