I like my Laptop to be well organized as i find it more easy to find my files and documents.

Haha I have to admit I usually don’t keep my stuff in the hard disk organized. (I’m just an unorganized sort of person!) but yes, it can be a pain in the butt sometimes when you can’t find what you’re looking for. Even worse when you forget the file name so you can’t search!

I’ll try putting your tips into application, like naming correctly, putting into categorized folders, etc. Thanks!

I am the most disorganized person I know. I wish it was different but most of the time my desktop is a mess. I guess I’d better change this aspect but somehow I always find something better to do rather than organize my files.

I really need to fix up my files soon… I am organized but I need to clear some files off completely to find things easier… Working on computers and building websites creates too many files to keep track of.

Absolutely, there’s nothing like keeping the files organized. In order to keep the computer running smoothly there are so many updates we have to make. I always try to keep my files organized and keep a back up too which is the best and the safest solution.

This was a great article, thanks! I dont recall who put me onto it but the best freeware tool I ever found for finding out where all your hard disk space is gone, is called SpaceSniffer. it has a nice visual representation of the used and free space. And it costs nothing.

I find myself using it all the time, you know what its like when all your disk space is gone and you dont know where all the big files are.

Anyway thats my 2c

Make sure you back this all up too.. And I cannot tell you how important it is to be organised!!! I still find it hard even now. I have at least 5 hard drives to store stuff on for my business and try to keep personal stuff separate.
