Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom – Rainbow Ride
Little girls will love this app because it features Dora. In this app, Dora saves the Crystal Kingdom. Rainbow Ride allows the user to tilt the iPhone from left to right and vice versa to guide Dora in the rainbow slide. This also comes with a built-in coloring book.
Bumblebee Touchbook
This is an app under the category of Books that can help your child learn how to read, and then love reading. With this app, when a word is touched as it is displayed in the screen, the word automatically animates and the user will hear the word spoken or pronounced. Children can then follow how the word is said. This is a definite winner for little children because it’ cute and very educational.
iWrite Words
This is an app under the Education category and is a handwriting game. This app is designed for little children to aid them in their first attempt at writing letters and numbers the fun way using the iPhone.
Babyphone for iPhone
This is under the Utilities category of the iPhone Apps. Babyphone is a baby monitor. If, for example, you need to be in another room while your baby is sleeping, you can easily turn on this app, place your iPhone near your baby, and when he wakes up, the babymonitor will call you in your house phone or at any other phone you registered to alert you about your baby. Many Moms find this very helpful and interesting.
Lullaby
This is another iPhone app from MAIL POINT GmbH. This is under the category of Music. Lullaby, as the name suggest, is a musical app, more like a music box. It plays lullaby’s for little children to sooth them when they are restless, and to bring them to sleep.
Signing Time ASL – Dictionary Flash Cards
This app is designed by CMGDev, LLC and is under the category of Education. This is an early childhood application on the American Sign Language which contains 145 professional standard flashcards. What it does is it teaches the user American Sign Language using the award winning Signing Time and Baby Signing Time series.

Our eldest brother just bought me some Iphone as his gift for me. Now that I have it I like to put some child friendly and full of learning stuff apps for kids to enjoy with. Thanks for the ideas. I’ve got a number of apps by Duck Duck Moose as they offer The Wheels on the Bus and Incy Wincy Spider too – similar ideas to Old MacDonald but with the variety of new stories. We’ve also got an Elmo eBook called The Monster at the End of this Book, it’s a really innovative eBook with great animation and my little lad loves it.
