How to Add Amazon Listings to Your Blogger.com Post

Talk about making it easy. If you have a free blog at blogger.com you will notice that they have introduced a new and very cool feature. Now you can easily add Amazon product listings to your posts. And it is extremely easy to do. In this example I have created a quick post on why you need an external hard drive for backup. This was great because I can easily find this product on Amazon. But wait, Blogger.com does it all for me…

What you will need to automatically post Amazon products into your Blogger post:

  1. You will need to have a blog at www.blogger.com Its free and easy to setup.
  2. You will need to signup as an Amazon affiliate so you can earn money from the sales your blog makes. See how below.
  3. You also need access to the internet to do all of this.

How to Activate Amazon Associates to monetize your Blogger blog

  1. Sign into your blog at blogger.com.
  2. Go to your dashboard. You will see tabs and links like in the screen shot below.
  3. Click on the Monetize tab.
  4. Then click on the Amazon Associates tab.
  5. Now you can fill in your Amazon Affiliate id. If you are not an Amazon affiliate then there will be a link there to signup.

Now when you go to make a new post there will be an option to add Amazon product listings to your blogger post. There will be a box like the one below. See in the screenshot I have circled the minus sign. I pressed on this to (was a + sign) and now the box has expanded and now we see the minus sign. You can press on the – sign again to shrink this box.

  1. When you are writing a new post the box below will appear. Fill in what you are searching for. The red arrow is pointing where to type.
  2. In the example below I have typed in “external hard drive 500gb”. You do not have to be so detailed. Then press the orange GO button.

Amazon link or image - blogger post

  1. Results will show for your search.
  2. When you see something you like simply press on the link, image, or link & image button below the picture. See the above screenshot. I have circled the buttons for you to see.
  3. See below. The big ad with the picture is the result of pressing the link & image button. The links down lower are the result of pressing the link button. You can also choose image only.

Amazon link or image into your blogger post

See how easy it is to ad an Amazon product to your blogger blog post. I am shocked and seriously impressed with this. The whole process is both quick and totally painless. The Amazon products are listed as soon as you click on the button, and if you are not happy with the product showing you do not have to add it.

Well, I have my the tab already, and I’ve been using it for months, but starting last month it just doesn’t work. What about yours? Does it still work? Or it is only me who stuck in this problem? Anyone please tell me what to do fix it?

Hi dee
I have heard of others having the problem..
Are you using Firefox?
I think it either has something to do with java not being updated or a popup blocker on your browser. I haven’t had time to see the cause yet though.

Hi Mitz,
I’m having the same problem. The Amazon box is next to the posting area but when I choose something in the search box, like books, there is no for box that shows up.
I’ve also tried to highlight what I’m linking, go to Amazon and highlight and copy the link, then paste it in the pop up box and press ok. The link there isn’t working either.
I so use Firefox but I tried it on Explorer too and it doesn’t work.
Also, when I click on monetize and amazon through blogger, I get the become an affiliate choice or input your existing number. I input my existing number and press enter and then it goes to become a new affiliate choice.
So, I’m doing something wrong or there’s something wrong between blogger and amazon. Not sure which but would love to know how to fix it.

Hi Rob,
I looked at your website and saw that Amazon affiliate boxes in there. When you are writing your post in blogger and have the choice to add an Amazon add in, there are options to choose a link, a link and an image, or an image only.

Great Guide. Thank you very much.
I’m interested if it is possible to add Amazon to already published post.
