Why does the younger generation like Facebook?
Even though you must be 18 years of age to sign up for a Facebook account, the younger generation has found its way into this website. Everyone of my daughter friends are members of Facebook and they are all ten years of age... Who can blame them though. The games that are associated with Facebook are attracting all generations. People my age are going on to Facebook to play Farmville, and to join groups with people of similar interests.
The younger generation plays cafe world, fish world, sorority life, mafia gangs, and more.. This is what they spend most of their time doing on Facebook, along with taking quizzes and surveys.
Disadvantages To Facebook For All Generations:
Unfortunately there are some disadvantages to Facebook, just like any other social networking website. Because Facebook has become so popular it has become a target for spammers, viruses, and sneaky tactics. Scammers have realized the value in peoples contact lists and will try anything to get them.
The other disadvantage is that people are not totally aware of what they are sharing. What can strangers see when they are viewing your profile?
Despite the disadvantages, individuals of all generations like to use the Internet to socialize, especially through Facebook. I was one of those sceptical people that have now joined in. Can you believe that I am a member of the same website as my children and their grandparents? For that reason, it is just good that there is a social networking website that has a focus on all generations.
