Computer Deals On Ebay - Are they good or bad?

definitely has a wide range of computers and computer components for sale in Every country. From full computer systems, build your own upgrade kits, to just a replacement part, Ebay has it all. I would highly recommend buying a computer from Ebay, as long as you know what you are buying.

Why should you buy a computer from Ebay?

There is one huge, unavoidable reason why you should buy a computer off Ebay, and this is because you can save big dollars. Now who does not want to save money? And this does not mean that you will be buying an inferior product. It is usually the exactly the same item.

How does Ebay computer deals compare to retail shops in the real world?

Well I have to admit that I have a serious computer buying problem and buy in between 10 and 20 computers a year, therefore I know how and where to get a good computer deal. I have compared Ebay's prices to the retail shops in Australia and Ebay wins hands down. I cannot speak for other countries, however I presume it is a similar situation. For example if you bought a second hand computer from computer dealer, the same thing is usually available on  for at least 25% less. If you just stopped to check it our you would see there are major computer bargains on Ebay.

Can you get a computer posted to you when you buy on Ebay?

You can get a computer sent to you through the post, however I do not recommend it, even though I have done this myself. Computers get knocked around in postage. The CPU sometimes gets dislodged and the average computer user would not think to check this. Also if there is something wrong with the computer when it gets to you, it will have to be posted back, and all this is just a waste of money. This is why you should buy from a seller that is within driving distance from you.

Laptops are another story entirely. They are small and compact and can be easily packaged tightly in a box. I have had no problems with sending laptops through the post.

How to get a good computer deal on Ebay?

Wether you get a deal on a computer on Ebay is all up to you. Its all about the knowledge you have. If you do not know what you are buying then you are a likely candidate to get ripped off. Don't get me wrong though, Ebay is not a  bad place, you can get ripped off anywhere.

  1. Research what you are buying. Do not rush out and buy the first computer you see on Ebay, there are hundreds to choose from. This is where people make the mistake. They really are not sure what they are buying and when they get the computer home, its not what the wanted.
  2. Before buying check a sellers feedback. Some people think this is fake, however it is not! Ebay feedback is very important and precious to each seller. The ones with high ratings usually like to keep it that way.
  3. When buying a desktop computer, buy from an Ebay seller that accepts pickup and is within driving distance of you. If there is a problem with the computer you can then easily return it for repair.
